“Let us not give up meeting together, as some are in the habit of doing, but let us encourage one another— and all the more as you see the Day approaching.”
~Hebrews 10:25
Whether you are a Christian or not, the words from this verse speak volumes to our human hearts. For in any situation, we need each other. Thursday is park day. Many of you will not attend for any number of reasons. But know this, that we need to spend time in fellowship together, for we need the support and encouragement of our peers. Homeschooling is at times a challenging endeavor. Often we feel alone, that our struggles are uncommon. But I tell you, we all walk in similar shoes. We have good days, and not so good days. In fact, at times the task of educating our children can seem beyond our abilities. So then why do we come together each week to “play” at the park? To encourage one another, to share in each other’s triumphs and each other’s sorrows. Face it, we need each other. It is equally important for our children, and ourselves, to spend time with those who share our way of life, as it is to do academics. Do not neglect meeting together. I know I need you and miss you when you do not spend time with the group.
